Composities

For the competitions of recent years, the flute competition has commissioned various composers to write new compositions for flute or piccolo. On this page you will find the most recent works:

Jeroen D'hoe wrote 'Patchwork' for piccolo and marimba especially for the piccolo competition for students in 2021. This composition is available at the webshop of Donemus. You can look at the preview copy right here. The version for piccolo and piano will be available soon.

Mathilde Wantenaar wrote the composition 'La canzone del piccolo uccellino' (The song of the little bird) for piccolo and vibraphone especially for the piccolo competition for amateurs in 2021. You can view the preview copy right here.

In 2017 Pip van Steen wrote 'René le Renard' dedicated to the secretary of our competition René de Vos. This flute quartet was first played during the ceremony in which René recieved the royal decoration 'ridder in de orde van oranje nassau'.

In 2008 the competition for amateurs (Benelux Fluitconcours) existed for 25 years. On the occasion of this jubilee, the following obligatory works were written:
