16th Dutch International Flute Competition

Are you a bachelor's or master's flute student, traverso student or are you a young talent? Then register for your own category.

Every year, more than 150 flute students from 25 different countries and all continents participate in this competition.

In 2027 we will organize a piccolo competition again.

We offer you a well-organized competition, a great festival and the opportunity to gain contacts for life...

- Bachelor & Master Students
- Traverso Students
- Young Talents (up to age 14 & up to age 18)

January 1, 2026: closing date for online registration
February 1, 2026: closing date for submitting all videos

10th Dutch International Flute Competition for young talents

For the 10th time, the Young Talents Category is part of the Dutch International Flute Competition.

This category is divided into two age groups:
– up to age 14
– up to age 18
These young talents are the soloists of the future!

Every year we introduce other compulsory works:

Category young talents up to age 14: 
Philippe Gaubert, Ballade or Emil Kronke, Suite im Alten Stil (parts)
And Johann Anton Stamitz, Capriccio-Sonate A-dur or Jean Rivier, Oiseaux Tendres

Category young talents up to age 18: 
Philippe Gaubert, Sonate nr.1 or Rhené-Baton, Passacaglia
And Friedrich Kuhlau, 6 Divertissements op.68, nr.2 or Paul Hindemith, 8 Stücke (parts)

2nd Dutch International Traverso Competition

In 2026 we organize the 2nd Dutch International Traverso Competition for students as a spin-off of the flute competition. 

The first prize winner gets paid to be Artist in Residence at Huis Nyengaerde

We welcome again our great adjudicators

Rafael Ruibérriz de Torres
Tami Krausz

Like the flute competitions, this competition is designed especially for students and serves as a true launching pad for many future professionals.

The live performances are free and open to the public.
